Glenora Chiropractic & Physical Therapy Clinic is committed to full-body rehabilitation, and we will diagnose the root cause of an injury or condition before proceeding with a treatment plan to restore a patient’s physical and mental well-being.

Dr. Tony Abdilmasih is a proud Edmontonian who founded Glenora Chiropractic Clinic in 2003. Following his own struggles with injuries related to hockey and soccer he experimented with various therapies. He was impressed by the effectiveness of chiropractic, sparking his desire to help others in their own recoveries.

Dr. Tony completed his studies towards a Biological Sciences degree at the University of Alberta then continued on to San Jose, California to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. His residency and thesis focused on sports injuries with emphasis on shoulder and hip rehabilitation. He also has had extensive training in motor vehicle accident rehabilitation. Always interested in furthering his knowledge base, Dr. Tony strives to incorporate the newest techniques and advancements in the field while continuing to update his education with emphasis in physical rehabilitation and biomechanics.

Dr. Derek Strachan is a Chiropractor and a fully certified Graston Technique provider. He was born and raised in Edmonton, attended the University of Alberta, and was accepted into the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) after three years of post-secondary study focusing on anatomy and physiology. Dr. Strachan offers chiropractic care, soft tissue therapy, biomechanical analysis, exercise therapy, and custom foot orthotics; all of which not only facilitate the treatment of the symptomatic area, but more importantly the root cause of the symptoms in each of his patients.

During his internship at CMCC, Dr. Strachan practiced under the Vice-President of the College of Chiropractic Sports Science, and had the privilege of treating many sport-related injuries in high level athletes. After four years in Toronto, Dr. Strachan returned to Edmonton to begin practicing in his home community.

Linda-Mari is a South African physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Stellenbosch, where she played netball and volunteered at various sporting events.

After graduation she worked in private practice, hospital and rural clinic settings, where the majority of her caseload was musculoskeletal, post-operative and paediatric cardiorespiratory conditions.

In 2018 Linda-Mari moved to Kuwait where she worked in a multidisciplinary clinic along with therapists from more than 14 countries. The exposure to different treatment methodologies and ideas within such a diverse and integrated practice broadened her critical thinking skills and approach.

Linda-Mari believes in finding individualised treatment solutions that work best for each patient, and uses a combination of manual therapy, exercise and dry needling.

Born in Edmonton and raised on an acreage north of Stony Plain, Barb graduated from the University of Alberta with concurrent degrees in Physical Education and Athletic Therapy in 2002. After spending some time working with a local junior football club and under mentorship at the Glen Sather Clinic, she developed a special interest in orthopedics and completed her Master of Science in PT in 2007.

Since graduating, Barb has worked in many roles in the public and private systems and has spent time working in adult neurology, complex multi-trauma, burns rehab and amputee rehab as well as continuing to work in various private clinics in Edmonton and Spruce Grove treating orthopedic and neurological conditions. Barb is certified in Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture and Women’s Pelvic Health. As a Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine Affiliated Clinical Educator, she has worked as a sessional instructor and competency examiner provincially and nationally and well as mentoring students in clinical settings since 2008.

Barb is a big believer in the interaction between all body systems, regardless of diagnosis and takes a holistic and comprehensive approach to assessment and treatment. She loves a medical puzzle and working with patients individually to meet their functional goals.

A humanitarian at heart, Barb has volunteered as a PT with The Canadian Association of Medical Teams Abroad (CAMTA) since 2017, a local charity that travels to Ecuador each February to provide orthopedic surgeries to folks who cannot afford healthcare. She is often heard saying she “learns way more from her patients in Quito about resiliency and hard work than she could ever teach them”.

When she’s not working, Barb can be found swimming, skating or jumping on the trampoline with her niece and nephew. She enjoys travel and adventure and loves nothing more than sitting on a beach with a good book in between surfing sessions.

Paula graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Alberta and then completed the Massage Therapy program at Grant MacEwan University. She has been practicing massage therapy since 1997. Paula lives in the neighbourhood runs through it daily. She is happily married and has two wonderful children.

I am passionate about the art and science of massage therapy. Born in Nicaragua and raised in Edmonton, I speak Spanish and English fluently and understand a little French. My professional background includes roles as a healthcare aide and office administrator, where I developed a strong foundation in patient care and organizational skills.

My passion is to help people heal, focusing on reducing stress, alleviating pain, and enhancing overall well-being. I am dedicated to providing a personalized, restorative experience for each client, using my extensive knowledge and skills to promote wellness.

Nhu is a licensed acupuncturist in good standing with the College and Association of Acupuncturist of Alberta. She has been passionate about healthcare from an early age. Through her travels she quickly gravitated towards the more natural and holistic avenues of health. While attending her acupuncture studies at Grant Macewan University, Nhu had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to partake in an internship with the acclaimed Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. Through her international studies, Nhu has always aimed to bridge the timeless traditions of Acupuncture with modern advances within the practice. Nhu’s practice is rooted in the foundations of preventative and maintenance care to avoid injuries and ailments before they occur. Nhu has special interest in treating pain management, stress relief, mental/emotional wellbeing, women’s health as well as offering facial rejuvenation acupuncture. Her practice focuses on addressing her interest in a holistic and organic fashion.

Nhu has nearly a decade of experience working alongside allied health professionals from the field of chiropractic, physiotherapy and massage therapy. She offers the following: acupuncture, cupping, guasha, tuina massage, auricualar therapy, moxibustion and TCM nutrition counseling. Nhu is eager to work with patients from all walks of life as a guide along their journey in health. Nhu is passionate to continue to gain knowledge in the field of acupuncture and is beyond grateful to be living her dream as an Edmontonian acupuncturist.

Jennifer is a Registered Acupuncturist who graduated from MacEwan University in 2018. She has enjoyed working with athletes as well as those suffering from chronic pain conditions or recovering from injury to help individuals achieve optimal health and performance and improved quality of life.

Utilizing a range of treatment modalities, including Gua Sha, low level laser therapy, electro-acupuncture and cupping, Jennifer offers comprehensive care for a variety of conditions including musculoskeletal disorders, gastrointestinal issues, and mental/emotional health ensuring a well-rounded approach to wellness for their patients.

With a deep understanding of traditional Chinese medicine principles and modern techniques, Jennifer is dedicated to providing personalized care that addresses the unique needs of each individual.

Jennifer grew up in southern Ontario spending summers out west. After studying Social Work, she moved to work in the Yukon and then Nunavut. She has called Edmonton home for more than 10 years and enjoys weightlifting and running and biking in our river valley.

Jay Naidoo is a graduate of the Makami College and has worked in clinics with multidisciplinary healthcare teams like physiotherapists and strength & sports coaches. He has extensive experience in Swedish, deep tissue, lymphatic drainage, prenatal, and sports massage. He strives to help clients recover from injury, experience relief from chronic pain and enjoy a greater quality of life. He also performs myofascial tissue release, cupping, hot stone, lymphatic drainage, and cyriax frictioning. He’s even worked at a 5-Star Spa at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge!

In his spare time, he likes going for walks with his dog Elsa in nature. Jay also enjoys paddling on the Edmonton dragon boat team, participating in 2 national championships and 1 world championship! Don’t miss an opportunity to get the full treatment from Jay!

An eclectic approach rooted in Individual Psychology and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy offers the versatility for a culturally sensitive, non-judgmental, and an efficient working relationship. There is no single right way to start this process. Treatment plans are co-created and personalized to meet the individual’s needs and interests.

Your unique context shapes the nature of certain challenges as well as opportunities. Working with a multidisciplinary team enhances the tools available for Jarret to provide effective treatment. It is Jarret’s belief that people have the strengths and abilities to navigate through life’s challenges. The question is, “How do you use what you already have to meet life’s challenges?”

Kim is a Registered Provisional Psychologist. An experienced educator of 35 years, he brings a wealth of experience as a therapist and committed family man. Having completed a Masters in Psychology, he has accomplished a successful nine course post-Masters including biological psychology, cognitive psychology, and social psychology. His specialties include working with individuals, couples, families, and parenting matters to creatively and collaboratively improve and progress to a healthier and enhanced life situation.
